NOTES
"Freedom Always Lies" is the breakout debut single from Redwood Prophets, released on January 20, 2017, U.S. Presidential Inauguration day. The timing of the release is no accident. Recorded on July 4, 2016, U.S. Independence Day, the song celebrates freedom from discrimination and freedom from tryannical hegemony. The amazing cover image for the single is a painting by Santa Barbara artist Sue Van Horsen titled "Obama Tried." Sue - you nailed it! As Obama said, "Yes we DID." :-)

Pop music guru and genius visual artist MagentaRaven (aka Perry Hoffman) says: "Grateful Dead meets David Byrne!! Yes!!!!"
Folk music singer/songwriter icon Joe Chaplain says "You got it - OR David Bowie meets Neil Young doing Odetta!!"

The sound is hard-hitting and fresh, with a sobering message delivered in dramatic Bowie style: "We could build a wall finer than The Great Wall of China, make a prison called Amerika!" Haunting, ghostly harmonica, eerie Fender Rhodes and an epic electric guitar solo that rivals Pink Floyd add up to a track you want to hear again and again.

Redwood Prophets are really an exciting new voice in the wilderness of popular music. Their eponymous debut album "Redwood Prophets" is due out in February. If the debut single is any indication, this record is going to turn some heads, hearts, minds and feet to the dance floor.
